INTRODUCTION

Presenting the biography of Sándor Ferenczi, the so called “ enfant terrible” of the psychoanalysis, is to try to make one present of the spirits clearest and cleverest of the first generation of psychoanalysts and, simultaneously, to offer a clear example of how extra-psychotherapeutic factors are intermingled, interfering with, and distorting the development of the psycotherapy due to the inevitable conflicts of interests and power of its actors. On the other hand, speak about him, is to invariably make a reference of how the passage of time places the true theoretical-clinical contributions beyond the possible conjunctural contingencies in which the knowledge of the psychological theory is developed....

Die Wende im Therapiekonzept Ferenczis zeichnet sich 1919 ab mit seinem Aufsatz »Zur psychoanalytischen Technik«.(16) Zunächst unterstellt er sich noch völlig der psychoanalytischen Grundregel, der Patient müsse alle Einfälle ausnahmslos mitteilen, die ihm in der Stunde kommen. Der Analytiker »muß unnachsichtig alles ans Tageslicht ziehen, was der Patient, mit welcher Motivierung immer, der Mitteilung zu entziehen sucht.«(17) Doch der findige Patient umgeht die Mitteilungspflicht in seinem »Assoziationswiderstand«(18) sehr raffiniert: statt auch Unsinniges mitzuteilen teilt er nur noch Unsinniges bis zur Glossolallie mit, vertauscht Heuhaufen und Nadel mengenmäßig. Ihm fällt nichts ein oder ihm fällt alles mögliche gleichzeitig ein und er kann es vor Fülle gar nicht der Reihe nach zur Sprache bringen....
